Because of the extensive risk posed in the event of a damaged gas spring, Special Springs has invested heavily in R&D and new technologies to develop safety features that address some of the most common causes of these failures. Among our recent developments in the Lifeplus Concept for nitrogen gas springs is the USAS (Uncontrolled Speed Active Safety) system.
Through continuous research and innovation in the industry, Special Springs is committed to the safety of our customers. Developed in full-compliance with regulations and a keen focus on quality, reliability and durability, our nitrogen gas springs with USAS technology are designed to safely fit your needs.
The Benefits of USAS in Your Nitrogen Gas Springs
Uncontrolled Speed Active Safety features are designed to protect against potential misuse of a gas springs. USAS is the combination of an extended bushing with a unique system positioned at the ceiling surface of the body bushing seal.
Under correct operating conditions, the safety device is not activated. If uncontrolled return strokes repeat, however, the USAS safety device is activated, releasing gas pressure in a controlled mode. This avoids rapid ejection of parts and greatly reduces the risks posed by failure in a nitrogen gas spring to users.
A Safety-First Focus in Our Nitrogen Gas Springs
When a nitrogen gas spring fails due to uncontrolled return strokes, there is substantial risk to users. USAS safety features ensure reliable activation if this should happen, reducing that risk and protecting your employees for dangerous and potentially fatal injury.
Special Springs is committed to the investment and research needed to ensure the highest possible quality and lowest possible risk when using one of our gas springs. To learn more about these safety features and how they feature in our products, download our safety-first brochure here.
