Special Springs offers three types of manifold systems. Conventional Manifolds, Easy Manifolds or Base Plate Systems, and Linked Systems.
Conventional manifolds plates are generally thicker plates with large volume holes drilled throughout to reduce pressure rise. The gas springs are piston sealed and provide maximum force. Our springs are interchangeable with Hyson and Forward.
Easy manifolds also known as base plate systems are ¾ to 1 ½ inch thick plates with ¼ – 3/8 gun drilled holes. These gas passages connect all the springs or segments of springs providing uniform force. Standard size gas springs are used and bolted to the plate. The gas is sealed at the bottom of the spring.
Linked systems are ¾-1 ½ inch plates with springs connected with a series of fitting and hoses. Special Springs offers five hose and fitting types.
Special Springs Manifold Systems are designed to provide maximum force with reduced pressure rise.
Advantages for Special Springs Manifold Plates include balanced force, more force in less space, adjustable force, increase press life by reducing reverse tonnage.
Special Springs Manifold Plates can be integrated as press cushions where the manifold spring force is transmitted through guide pins in the tool.
Our springs are interchangeable with Hyson, Forward, and Metrol.
